About the Maker

Lauran Trevena is the maker behind Lauran Ceramics, a small pottery studio based in Catherine Hill Bay on the NSW Central Coast. Working part-time from her home studio, Lauran creates handmade ceramic homewares designed for everyday use.

Lauran is also a registered NSW architect and the founder of LTAA Architecture, bringing over 20 years of design experience into her pottery practice. Her background in architecture strongly influences the way she approaches ceramics—focusing on form, proportion, balance, and timeless simplicity.

What began as a personal creative outlet quickly grew into a deep passion. Lauran became captivated by the tactile process of working with clay and the beauty of objects that are used in daily rituals—from the morning cup of coffee to shared meals around the table.

Each piece is wheel-thrown or handmade in small batches, ensuring every mug, bowl, and homeware item carries its own unique character. Her work focuses on functional ceramics—pieces that feel good in the hand and sit naturally within modern homes.

Drawing on both her architectural training and love of thoughtful design, Lauran creates ceramics that bridge craft and everyday living. From simple mugs and bowls to custom ceramic cups and bespoke homeware pieces, every item is made with the intention of adding warmth and beauty to the home.

All pieces are created in her Catherine Hill Bay studio and fired in small kiln loads, making each release limited and special.
