Make a Mug Pottery Class
Duration: 2.5 Hours
Skill Level: Beginner
Maximum Class Size: 4 Participants
Location: Home Studio, 32 Quinn Street, Catherine Hill Bay NSW
When: Saturday Mornings | 9:30 am – 12:00 pm
Create a mug that's uniquely yours in this relaxed and enjoyable hand-building pottery class. Perfect for beginners or anyone looking to explore their creativity, you'll learn traditional hand-building techniques to design and make your own functional ceramic mug.
Throughout the workshop, you'll be guided step-by-step as you shape your mug, add handles, experiment with texture, and personalise your piece with stamps, carving or decorative details. With a small class size, you'll receive plenty of individual guidance in a welcoming home studio environment.
Bring along your favourite snacks and beverages, unwind, and enjoy a creative few hours making something you'll treasure for years to come.
Please Note: Participants aged 12–18 years must be accompanied by a participating parent or guardian.
What's Included
All clay, tools and materials are provided.
Two and a half hours of personalised, hands-on tuition.
Create one handcrafted ceramic mug.
Glazing and firing of one mug is included in the class fee.
Additional pieces can be glazed and fired for $15 per piece.
What to Bring
Comfortable clothing and closed-in shoes.
Clothes you don't mind getting a little clay on.
Your favourite snacks and beverages.
Your creativity and willingness to have fun.
Glazing & Firing
We use premium mid-fire stoneware clay, selected for its durability, sustainability and beautiful finished results.
After your class, your mug will be carefully dried, refined where required, bisque fired, professionally glazed and fired a second time. The finished piece will be food safe, microwave safe and designed for everyday use.
Your completed mug will typically be ready for collection 3–5 weeks after your class. We'll let you know as soon as it's ready.
Policies & Booking Changes
Glazing and firing are included with this class. While every care is taken throughout the drying and firing process, pottery is handmade and kiln firing is inherently unpredictable. Occasionally, pieces may crack, warp or break during firing. By booking a class, you acknowledge and accept this risk.
If you need to reschedule your booking, please refer to our Terms & Conditions for our cancellation and transfer policy.
