When: Wednesday Evenings | 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm
Discover the joy of creating your own pottery in this intimate, hands-on wheel throwing class. Perfect for complete beginners or those looking to build confidence on the pottery wheel, this small class offers plenty of one-on-one guidance from an experienced ceramic artist.
You'll learn the fundamentals of wheel throwing, including how to centre clay, open, shape and form your own unique pottery pieces. With a maximum of just two participants, you'll enjoy personalised instruction in a relaxed and welcoming home studio, allowing plenty of time for individual guidance and support.
Relax, get creative, and enjoy a peaceful evening making pottery. Feel free to bring your favourite snacks and beverages to enjoy during the class.
Please Note: Participants aged 12–18 years must be accompanied by a participating parent or guardian.
What's Included
All clay, tools and materials are provided.
Two hours of personalised, hands-on tuition.
Create 1–2 pottery pieces on the wheel.
Glazing and firing of up to two small or medium pieces is included in the class fee.
Additional pieces can be glazed and fired for $15 per piece.
What to Bring
Comfortable clothing and closed-in shoes.
Clothes you don't mind getting a little clay on.
Your favourite snacks and beverages.
Your creativity and willingness to have fun.
Glazing & Firing
We use premium mid-fire stoneware clay, chosen for its strength, sustainability and beautiful finished results.
Once your pieces have dried, they will be carefully trimmed (if required), bisque fired, glazed in your chosen finish and fired again. Your finished pottery will be durable, food safe and suitable for everyday use, including being microwave safe.
Completed pieces are typically ready for collection 3–5 weeks after your class. You'll be notified when they are ready for pickup.

Glazing and firing are included with this class. While every care is taken throughout the drying and firing process, pottery is handmade and kiln firing is inherently unpredictable. Occasionally, pieces may crack, warp or break during firing. By booking a class, you acknowledge and accept this risk.
